Terry and Eloise Crowther have been producing garlic at Eungella in the hinterland of Mackay, Queensland, since the year 2000
We have always maintained a chemical free policy and have only ever farmed  with organic methods
Australia imports about 85% of its garlic from China, where it is grown in sub-standard conditions. Fumigation for entry into Australia involves methyl bromide, a chemical that can cause severe health problems, and the bulbs are chemically bleached to appear white.
